FLORIDA INVENTORY SERVICES - HOW IS THE ASSETS INVENTORY PROCESSED? Cover Your Assets! Florida Inventory Services will provide you with a complete inventory of your assets through a simple three steps process. STEP 1: First Contacts You contact us through personal visit to our offices, phone, email, snail mail, fax, or by using the Contact Us page on this Web site.
An inventory specialist visits your home, gives you a written estimate and schedules YOUR inventory.
STEP 2: Conducting the Assets Inventory We begin by photographing the outside of your home or business and the grounds, including outside buildings and landscaping.
Inside the home or business, every room or work area (including the garage and basement) will be photographed, showing all the contents. These high quality images record in greater detail all of your collectibles, antiques, jewelry, furs, furniture, cars, boats and if a business, office equipment, and shop equipment.
Your assets inventory with you present, and we welcome your input about the items inventoried: sentimental value, prices paid and age. We make a digital list of each item in the room, opening drawers, closets, and storage boxes. We are as descriptive as possible.
We strive to include all items stored in the attic, hall closets, basement, and outbuildings. If needed, we will even accompany you to a storage facility and inventory the items it contains.
For each item in your Assets Inventory, we record:
Description (and quantity)
Manufacturer or brand name
Model number or serial number
Description of where (or how) the item was obtained
Date of purchase or age of item
A picture of the item
STEP 3: Finalization We then compile the list and input all your information and inventory into designed software identified by your case number. All information is then transferred to a CD and given to you upon completion. If you so desire, we also retain a copy off site in a secure location.
In addition, a written record will be provided listing each item of value, including a description, serial/model numbers, cost, and your estimated or appraised replacement value (homes only).
You will receive a portfolio shortly after the inventory containing your CD(s) and a certificate of "inventory completion" by a third party for insurance purposes.
No one but you has access to the data and all inventories are removed from working computers. You can access our stored copy if necessary and we will, at your request, release it to proper authorities.
Finally, you should update your inventory at least annually to make sure that it accurately reflects your home's contents.
Disclaimer: We are not certified appraisers and we will not represent you legally as to the value of your property as REPORTED TO US BY YOU. Your receipts and appraisals are necessary for that aspect. Our assistance will be in the reporting capacity only.
