Here in Florida our winter months are known as brush fire season. There are many reasons as to why brush fires ignite. Lightning, debris burning, campfires, smoking and arson all can play a role in the ignition of brush fires.

Fire fighters offer a few suggestions to do to your home and property to help keep the risk of a brushfire down.

Remove yard waste that surrounds your home. This means leaves, branches, debris, and combustibles.
